In the report published by Ministry of Union Housing and Urban Affairs, Bengaluru and Shimla have been ranked as the most liveable cities, among the 111 cities which participated.· In the over 1 million populated cities, Bangalore topped and is followed by Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Surat, Navi Mumbai.
· In cities with less than 1 million population, Shimla topped and is followed by Bhubaneshwar, Silvassa, Kakinada, Salem, Vellore.
· Municipal Performance Index 2020 was also released, which rated 111 municipalities on their services, finance, policy, technology and governance.
· Indore topped the ranking of municipalities with over 1 million population and the New Delhi Municipal Council topped under less than a million-population category.
